Cleaned Plugs, now no power to PFC & Ignition Box
So my buddy from the city came in town and today he decides to clean his race plugs. Mainly because he was having a hard time starting up. Anyway, cleaned them up and then tried to get her started...Nothing.
So, of course it's flooded. I pull the plugs and they are just wet and stink of fuel...
Next. Pull the EGI fuse and plugs and cranked the **** out of it. Could see a mist of fuel coming out of the engine bay so it was definately flooded...This time that we did it I noticed on the commander that the battery voltage was going down. so we hooked up a charger to it. Cranked it again...Nothing.
Now we notice that his Jacobs ignition box and PFC commander have no power. We checked the fuses that we thought would be the problem but everything looks ok.
Any specific fuse you can think of that would cause this? All the other electronics work fine..lights, sunroof, gauges, etc. just the jacobs ignition box and the commander are dead...
Right now it doesn't even make sense to crank it without getting power...Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David
Here's a photo of my buddy who can't quit saying "****....************.....****....god damnit....son of a bitch...crack *****...." and many other choice words.
i keep saying. "Dude, it's an FD...its all part of the process."
I feel it for him tho becuase he is 2 hours away from home.

Do the plug wires have to complete a circuit for these to be on? Thinking they could be bad because he said they are a couple years old.

Well, I just drove 4 hours to take him home and his FD is in my garage...Goingto go see what parts I can swap now
He's coming to haul it off tuesday and bring it to RP...He was also having some other major issues with the car too.

In general, I've never been pleased with Jacob's products. I've seen quite a few of their ignition boxes die. Never tried the FD plug wires, but the FC plug wires SUCK - they might work well, but the fitment is awful.
Anyhow, glad you got things figured out!
