Civic Vtec kick Auto RX 7 butt
I drove my friend RX7 with auto tran, while i try to drag with a Civic Vtec, at first gear the car does not seem to have any boost and then after 2 second only the boost came in while at 2nd gear.
By then what I kwow is that the Civic Vtec has kick my butt and when on to tell other that my friend's RX7 is useless. Pls help, I don't believe that an auto RX7 can lose to Civic Vtec.

There are stock 1st gens that can beat the vtec civic. Either the 7 was driven poorly (no offense to you) or something is wrong with engine.
Some civics are pretty heavily modded and can run 12's but it doesnt sound like this is the case.
The auto FD will fly, use the hold button to keep RPM's up at the start.

I tried the Hold button on first gear and its bitch, no power at all until it I let go the hold button and let it changed to second gear then it flies, but as I said it was already too late as it was a drag race.
And yes the Civic Vtec is heavily Mod, it had a 2 liter block under the hood. But still I dont the civic vtec can ever beat RX7 be it an auto

I don't know anything about this because this is auto jargon but...
What's the est. HP of the civic by chance?
To tell you the truth I wouldn't have a hard time believing a modded civic(with a 2 liter block whatever that means) would beat a auto FD with someone who hasn't driven it/raced it alot..

I think it's probably a vtec civic engine but with the 2.0 block from the prelude/integra engine. Increases displacement/intake/exhaust flow I think. Stock civic vtecs are 160 hp I believe, this one is probobably running 190-200 or so. They're also lighter than the ludes or tegs, so it's probably a pretty quick civic. If I had to guess I'd say around 15 sec 1/4, stock auto rx7's are around 14.5-15, correct me if i'm wrong.

Without knowing your boost pattern there's no helping you.
Your comment "I push the hold buuton while in first gear and the rev will not get pass even 2000rpm!!!!!!"
Seems to be describing what is commonly referred to as "stalling" the stall converter. While holding the brakes and pressing on the gas (no matter what gear is selected) the engine RPM's will build to 2500 and then stop.
From driving a auto FD, I can give you the following comments.
Off the line performance is dismal....Until about 20mph or when the secondary turbo kicks in while in 1st gear.
After that you should have no worries.
However, as you are finding out, in most street races, its VERY hard to make up that 3 car lead that joker in that Ford Aspire has on you.
It can be a very embarrassing scenario rollin up in a swank Auto FD..... All show, no go.
Get her on the highway and its a different ballgame. The auto FD will lay the smack down on any car not truly in its league.

A 2.0 liter Honda engine puts out 190-200 depending on year. A civic weighs 2100-2500 depending on year and model. Althought the other guy's engine only has about 150-160 lbs of torque, your car doesn't really join the party until the boost builds..
I say don't worry about it; it doesn't happen very often

Yeah, the civic has 195 hp on it and it is a 2 doors. So Unixpilot, from your comment "commonly referred to as "stalling" the stall converter" does that means it is normal for the rev to only rev up to 2500rpm and the real power only kick in at 2nd gear.
It is very true that at 2nd and 3rd gear I have no problem at all, i can out run the civic vtec but not by a lot.

The real killer is the gearing of the auto tranny and the rear end gears on the auto FD.
First gear in the Auto FD is almost the same as 2nd in the 5pd FD.
The rear end gear is 3.9 in the auto vs. 4.1 for the manual.
That combination is what is responsible for such lousy launch for an auto FD. Swapping out the rear end gears for a 4.33 will help, but that auto tranny will still hold you back.
Do a search,
But the accpeted "best" method to launch the auto FD is to
1. put it in "L" with the hold button pushed.
2. press and hold brake
3. press gas down 1/4 way, or just enought to stall @ 2500rpm
4. release brake, and SLOWLY press gas to wide open.
5. Hit hold button @ 6000RPM or so
