Exclamation Check your oiler cooler!

After pulling off my front bumper cover, I was astonished on how mangled my oil cooler fins were. 1/3 or more were bent so much no air could get through. Also, there is a rubber piece covering the entire top of the duct (riveted on) to the top of the which had come off. Without this the air can just run over top of the cooler.

This can't be any good for the motor(maybe I should have had an oil temp meter). I spent 1 1/2 hours unbending the cooler fins. Now I need to drill out the rivets in the cooler duct and fabricate some aluminum flashing to cover the hole.

Make sure to check your cooler fins and make sure the rubber duct top has not come off or loose.

Maybe this is why some motors run hot and fry...
