Check the Sticky at the top if you'd like to donate.

We're trying to reach a goal of $500 with everyone contributing just a few bucks each so that we can get an accurate view of how many FD's are still on the road.

All of the info on it is discussed in the sticky.

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/interest-knowing-how-many-fds-registered-531604/

Add your name to the list if you'd be willing to donate. There's also no set amount for each person to donate. It could be $1 or $10, doesnt matter just as long as we can get to $500.

Thanks!

10 names so far....

For newer members, this question has been asked many times over the last several years, and with enough donations we actually have a chance to answer it.

Hey, when should we start sending money? And what's your paypal address? You might want to add this info to the sticky.

I was wanting to get enough people together before the donations would actually start. It might be better if everyone puts the amount of money they'll pledge beside their name on the list so we know when we get to the $500 mark, and then the actual donations can start.

It would be pointless for everyone currently on the list to send money since we dont know if we can get enough pledged. Just think of it like a Group Buy where you just have a list of interested members first. Once I see sufficient demand to make the average donation reasonable, I'll put up my paypal address so we can get this thing rolling.

Thanks Ramy. I actually didnt ask for this to be a sticky though. Shortly after I made the thread and got a few responses I refreshed the page and was like "What the Hell?! Where did it go?! This better not have been moved to the Lounge!" Took me a few minutes to realize it was stickied at the top. I think it was Jason trying to be sly since he was the only moderator logged on in this section.

$150 from 6 actual pledges, $350 left to go. If you've added your name to the list make sure you add your pledge amount next to it.

I wonder if it is possible for them to amend the query for a small extra amount to do a historical search over, say, the past five years to see the number of cars registered each year. I get the impression that the attrition rate is pretty nasty with this car.

I'll inquire about that tomorrow since it would be interesting to know

Just to be sure... This is going to tell us how many fd's are registered in each state at the present time and for a certain number of years back? So we should be able to tell, for example, how many fd's were registered in Alabama in 1997 or how many were registered in New Jersey in 2004, right??

The reason I ask is because the sample spread sheet only lists the make and model but doesn't break each model down by year. So, for instance, the sheet just indicates "Chevy Belair" and then the number registered each year but it doesn't state what year Belair was registered. Also, it appears that the sample spread sheet was for only one state??

The reason I ask is because I want to know how many fd's were registered each year, not including fb's and fc's. Also, it would be nice to be able to break it down by state as opposed to the entire country.

The data that we'll get wont be for each year since production. Lets say we get the data by next friday, it is going to be a data "timestamp" which will show the number of 93,94, and 95 RX-7's registered in each state as of 4/28/06 only. If you asked for registration data from the nation or all the states back the last 10 years, more than likely it will increase the cost. They should have archived data though and I'll look into how much they would charge.

That sample spreadsheet was for the number of registered cars in 1 unknown state, for basically every car made, at a given point in time (1/25/05)

BTW: We are up to $265 after 12 pledges, $235 left to go. Not bad for 2 days.

That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure after looking at the sample. Thanks again.
