oooohhhh Youse guys want trade secretes Huh???
We use, drills, dremels, die grinders with a myriad od different sized and shaped sadning cones, wheels, mini buffs, felt bobs, aluminum grinding burrs, orbital sanders, micro sanders, and of course, some times you have to break down and use your little fingers to take a peice of sandpaper and get into the creases to get the "bumps" that DaedelGT was talking about out. The biggest peice of equipment we use is a home built buffing machine with 10" wheels and a 1hp motor (turning the wheels with an RX-7 altenator belt.. of course!!!!!) We use at least four different types of buffing wheels on that one after the sanding has been done.
If you're trying to do an intake yourself, ,PM me and I'll help ya out as much as i can... Keep in mind though, we've been throwing money at this polishing thing at almost the same rate we thro money at our cars!!!!!
You can do a pretty good job with basic tools, just be prepared to get WAAAYYY dirty and spend probably 50-75 bucks on materials. Oh, and aluminum dust is EXPLOSIVE, and slightly poisonous... make sure you do it in a well ventilated area!!
Remeber about 80% of the work is sanding, and if you do a shitty job sanding, no amount of buffing is gonna help you, so take your time.
But, if your not the "do it yourselfer, cromagnon type", i'll do it for ya!!
This is our site... forgive me, I'm still working on it!
