Great job. I never liked that front until I saw it in real life on your car. Looks great. Hope you hit 10s with that setup. From what I hear, Josh is looking to leave you behind

Let us know in the NE section when you plan to test that baby out, I would love to go watch!

How did the Power FC blow your motor?

Uhhh.... Was it the Power FC or the tuning on the Power FC?

Hey guys.......looks like Im heading down a road of an "argument" which I don't feel like getting into. If some of you are having sucess w/ the power fc, great. I did too, when I had stock twins, but when I went single turbo, it was a whole different story. Apparently the timing on the Power Fc is only an estimate and is not an accurate reading and unless you have the Power Excel software (straight from Apexi's mouth) they won't help you. Dave @ KDR had my timing set at 14 degree's and 12 split. The actual timing was 50degree's off!!!! Take it for what you will, but I know of at least 10 people with single turbo setup using the Power FC that already popped their motor. I learned the hard way and thought I'd share my experience's. Im not saying the Power FC can't run your single turbo 7 correctly, but unless you have the Power Excel software, your going to be hard pressed.

Not trying to argue, just trying to save my motor....

I would think if the timing was off with a single turbo, it was off with the sequential setup. I remember you running 11's with the sequentials, so the Power FC was obviously doing a pretty good job. When you switched to the single turbo, it was retuned.

I agree it is crazy that you need the Power Excel software to really tune it. Luckily, I'm pretty close to XS Engineering, so I can make a run down there if needed.

Regardless, I can't wait to see what your car does at the strip this time. Is the race with the vette still on?

Matt,
You'll be fine w/ using the Power FC w/ your stock twins. As for the vette, dunno yet. Prolly take a trip to Virginia in the spring. Long hike just to hang out.

Which car? The Rx7 is Big Ern's, the C32 is our friend Jims. However the red Conquest is mine.

I am taking mine into Dave on March 19th. My 93 Rex is completely stock so far, so I have a way to go until I get it tweaked just right...
Your car looks GREAT!!! Especially with a better camera!

Would you share the map that blew your engine? Does KDR have an a/f ratio datalogging system hooked up with the dyno? If so, what's the a/f ratio were you running when the motor popped and at what boost level? Thanks in advance for sharing. If you can email me the map, I can host it at my website for people to look at.
