check engine light -- changing plugs?

We have an intermittent Check Engine Light, I'll pull the codes tonight -- but it all started when we changed the plugs a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering if there is any common mishap that could have started the Codes?
I'm sure we knocked around the knock sensor and ground wires some because we had to get out plugs that were set too deep (the ground down socket trick).

First sign was no odomoter and CEL right after the plug install.
Reset with the negative battery ground and the odometer came back and the CEL light went out.

now, a week or so later the CEL has intermittently come on and gone off.
Today, my son called to say that it stayed on. We'll pull the codes tonight, but any thoughts?

Thanks as always
