I also have power locks. Heck, when I unlock the car with the key, the passenger side unlocks too.

I've left a couple messages on her machine over the weekend but she has not returned my call. I'm guessing she took the money and ran. I'd still like to know what it sold for.

Here's the deal on power locks...

United States cars received one power door lock actuator (passenger door) which locks (or unlocks) that door when the key is used in the driver's door lock. If you unlock the passenger's door using the key, you'll find out that you've only unlocked the passenger's door, it doesn't work the other way.

Similary, pushing the lock mechanism from inside the car on the driver's door will lock the passenger's door also, but not vice versa.

In Japan, however, it's my understanding that the RX-7 came with keyless entry option and a power actuator in the driver's door as well. An aftermarket actuator will eventually fatigue and break the linkage in the driver's door, so the best solution is to get a Japanese-spec driver's door actuator and complete the "set".

I have an aftermarket deal in my driver's side door that was installed with the alarm. It is not too great and doesn't fit right, it actually doesn't work half the time now anyway. So as Jim said the Jap. OEM is the best way to go$$$$$$ Just unlock it you lazy bastards
