who's obtained this setup for cheap? Not interested in buying a efini ypipe at this time.

have people been able to fit t-bolt clamps in on the y-pipe side with the airpump and everything intact? it's a pretty tight fit

 

I got a black 4 ply 500 degree coupler from www.hightempsilicone.com . $12 and can withstand the heat.

 

You can get a foot of 2.75" silicone hose from www.bakerprecision.com for $26. I use the reinforced orange turbo hose because it's indestructable and lasts forever. It's $37 a foot.

Get some clamps while you're at it. These are not nearly as expensive or bulky as t-clamps and grip just as tightly.

Don't bother with expensive clamps on the intake side or I will laugh as I always do. I've seen guys with $50 worth of clamps all in front of the turbo

 

so don't buy t-bolt clamps for the crossover connections? I have a makeshift 3x3" coupler w/ a standard worm clamp right now, won't hold it on very tight... silicone is too hard for these clamps it seems?

 

Damon meant that you don't need anything expensive on the intake side; i.e., the intake pipes from the airbox leading to the turbo. Yes, you will need good clamps on any couplers post-turbo. Cheap hose clamps that you buy at the local hardware store will not work, as the worm gear strips out the cuts in the band easily.

I've never tried the hose clamps from Baker Precision, but I imagine they must work well if they have a lifetime warranty.

 

The link I have above is a much better product than a standard worm drive hose clamp. They may look similar but they are very different. Think Yugo vs. BMW

There is no sense in using an expensive clamp in front of the turbo because there is nothing but slight vacuum there.

 

I also like hosetechniques.com. They are $10.50 a piece on the website.
