You're correct, they are short

I bought my second FD from a Mazda dealer and it came with a nardi wooden shift **** that didn't meet the boot so it was a tad too short. It didn't bother me though, it was nice **** and it went with my 94 tan interior (only seats and carpet are tan). Fast forward 24 years later (last week) while undergoing a bunch of upgrades, I got a short shifter and my mechanic couldn't get the damn thing off. So I went on the hunt for a replacement and it turns out that **** is quite the sought after miata wooden ****. Depending on the condition they go for $200-$400. Lol who knew?

Bah... I'm getting a Spirit R **** now. The red stitching matches the steering the wheel you sold me anyway

Going off topic, but many of those Nardi ***** (and Momo *****) have set screws. You unscrew that bottom silver base and it reveals 3 Allen head set screws.

The three wood pieces have the best feel, but I have since moved away from the mismatched tone look.

To something more eclectic.

Thanks Dale. Since my **** started spinning on itself (common issue with these) it makes sense why he couldn't get it off.

Hmm not those tear drop Nardi, they screw on just like our OEM ****. Those old school MOMO sphere **** yea, had one on my MX-6 way back, love the look but it is always freaking lose lol.

I wish our shifter is about 1-1.25" shorter, think it would've look pretty good.

Sorry went way off topic here lol.

I bought mine roughly 4 years ago for $10,500. '93 VR base with 103,000 miles. Interior was pretty rough and needs a paint job. It is a very old build but runs like a champ. Street ported, 78mm single turbo, and Haltech.

4-ish years ago. Black '93 R1 with 92k miles. Wouldn't start. $4.7k I believe.
It was an electrical issue. Passenger Fender and front bumper paint are gone, but overall it's in good shape.

A year or so prior I helped someone snag a 93' VR with ~30k miles on it for something under $11k.

With the market moving the way it has, I've just kept adding to it, so it's a good bit different from what it was when I got it already; although it doesn't look it...yet

I bought my 1st FD (1994 MB Touring 5spd beige touring w/glass sunroof) in 1998. My buddy had it all apart and installing a Greddy T78 kit on it with an Apexi front mount IC - 8k. I put it back together and then sold it - regrettably.

The 2nd FD (1995 VR Base 5spd black interior w/panel sunroof) I have now I got in 2008 with a blown motor and some body damage - 2800. Definitely keeping this one... lol.
