Received parts today and installed car pulls harder and boost increased by around 1 psi and that is with the stock mazda filter. The new (greenstuff) filter should be arriving any day. Thank You very much for designing this it works great. Also installation is not difficult at all.

Adam just helped me install his special intake kit on my car today. I am very impressed and I CAN feel a difference. The design is very genius and simple at the same time. Definitly a must have mod for the guys that want to keep their car looking stock.

You should be fine at 11 psi. If you find that you are going higher than that, you will need to get a boost controller.

I've been driving around with the mod now for about two weeks, the CBI kit is the best $70 I've spent on my car.

I've been running with Adam's airbox mod for about a year now.
I block the front intake to avoid stealing air from the intercooler, and lengthened the airbox hole (towards the firewall) and modified Adam's sheet metal a bit.
I am using an upper airbox assembly that has the baffling for the airpump outlet pipe cut away. This generated alot of "mooing", that I fixed by removing the airpump outlet hose, plugging the airbox entry and exit with rubber chairleg ends (as suggested in some other thread on this forum), and drilling holes in another chairleg end and placing that over the airpump outlet above the turbos. This setup still drones a little bit, but is much better.
I run this mod with the Greddy SMIC and a Pettit duct, for a close to stock look (helpful in CA for passing smog). I occasionally track the car in this configuration and have been very pleased with the results.
I have also removed the left (and right) black plastic blocks in the bumper's intake oval, to help get additional air to the intake. At some point in the future, I may modify the sheetmetal to create a smooth 90 bend to help channel the air from horizontal to vertical.

I just designed intake "tubing" for my stock box that Im making from carbon fiber. Havent put it on the road yet to see how it works. It feeds air from the front of the car directly into the bottom of the box.
The 2 pieces interlock together. The piece on the left goes though the bottom of the airbox and hooks to the piece on the right which comes out to the small side piece in the main opening at the front of the car. The small side piece has a hole cut in it to accomodate the opening of the intake tube.
Ive created a couple of pieces with carbon fiber but had to modify the shape some for fitment. Should have a completed 2 piece system in a few weeks.
Ill post more pics if there is any interest in this project.

I would do the shield and the box cutting at the same time, for 2 reasons:
1. If you cut the box first, you may cut it in the wrong place. The cut needs to be made so that hot air won't come in. If you don't have the shield, you will probably cut the box wrong, and have to buy a new one to fit the shield.
2. If you cut the box now, you will have to pull everything out again to install the shield. Why do the work twice?

Yes, it performs better!! The reason is that it uses two soures for cool air. None of the expensive cold air intakes (that I have seen or heard of) have two separate cold air sources.
My intake kit doesn't inject any fluids, so it won't cause "hydrolock".

someone saw my interest and sold me their unused kit. I had just installed new plugs, wires, fuel filter, and O2 sensor, did a base run - car was boosting a perfect .689. after Adam's intake was installed, my boost went up to .74
, and 1st gear hits redline instantly.
I did turn my boost down a click to equal it out until i put a mod map on the PFC.
