Call me narrow minded if you like, but I cannot see a decent functional design being possible for $200 tbh.

Sell FD. Buy 240.

This will get you more money to spend on cheaper mods, and the folks there will appreciate the "cheaping out" mentality... ESPECIALLY if you get into the m4d tite Dorifto scene man!!! Yeah!

I know you're probably trying to mod the car on a budget, but this isn't the right route to go. I've seen a number of FD's with cheap Ebay headlight kits and it really cheapens the car. Not only do they fit like crap, the lighting is absolutely terrible and the longevity of the electric components is terrible as well.

Remember, the FD is a QUALITY car, one of Japan's only supercars. It deserves QUALITY parts.

If you're on a budget and need better lighting, get some HID bulbs that plug into the stock headlight housings.

Personally, I've hardly seen a sleek light kit that I actually *like* the looks of.

Modding this car on the cheap usually (though not always) results in disaster in my experience

Here's an example of my version of cheap!

My sleek lights started out with a 2nd hand set of un-used buckets with brackets. I think I paid $100.00 6yrs ago. Now that I'm finally installing my full body kit with sleek lights, I had to purchase the other stuff to complete it. I got lucky back in December and found someones complete put together oem style bmw 5 series HID projectors, bulbs, and ballast from a Lexus IS 300. I paid $240.00 for this off ebay and they work perfect and have fantastic light out put with proper cut off. Fitment was a whole other story as I had to do some creative hacking to make them fit. This kind of stuff happens when you don't know what your getting. I then went to Rallylights and purchased 2 hi beam projectors (to complete the projector look) for another $100.00. Only thing left is $20.00 for plexiglass for the covers that I'm gonna have to shape to mimic the factory curvature. I promise it won't look ghetto when it's done! Anyways that's $460.00 for my so called cheap upgrade.

it's funny, all of these crazy hack job diy threads that keep popping up recently seem to be coming from relatively new owners. It makes me wonder what the state of the general population of FD's in 10 years will look like... probably an utter mess at this rate. The price on these cars is relatively cheap now, and it seems they are getting bought up by ignorant kids and hacked apart faster than I thought would ever happen to the FD. sad stuff
