chasing a high pitched squeak

Another one to throw out there. For a long time I have been chasing a high pitched squeak from the back of the car. I am not sure if it is the 'hatch rattle', but I have have greased the hinges and adjust the striker so it needs a hard close to lock.

I could swear it it inside, not outside the compartment. Anybody ever run unto anything similar or know of a fix?

Thanks,

Dan

Do you hear it only on bumps? If it sounds like it's coming from the back, I'd check the jack, specifically the jack handle. Also try greasing the hood and the rubber stoppers (4) that it sits against. I've had that squeak and it sounds like its from the inside.

Ive had the same exact issue. Another forum member pointed it out to me. It was my Cat heatshield just rubbing against everything.

Check your hood latch. Put some electrical tape around the latch to see if it stops.

Try the sway bar bushings. They can really sound like they are inside.
