Charged air temps?
Hey guys, just curious what is too hot for your Air temps. I usually run around the 30-50 degree on a cold day with the M2 and Coolcharge II IC. I get skittish to boost when the temps are around 50 ish. And when i see 60, i will definitely not boost, just wondering if im being overly cautious or if what i am doing is right on track.

Your being overly cautious. Your ecu does some compensation based on the air temperatures. During boost your always going to see high temperatures possibly up to 200 F depending on heat soak. Cruise temps and WOT temps should be considered two completely different areas for temperature. Also just an FYI but your air temperature sensor, if stock, will never give you a true temperature. I have done test on its latency against a GM open element sensor and the stock sensor will always be a good 50 F just based off of a single boost run.

No the stock sensor reads low by about 50 F during a boost run. The sensor is a closed element type and so the sensing element never sees the full temperature change. Location can also help with this as under the UIM allows it to heat soak when the car sits.
60 deg should not be a problem as long as your ecu is tuned for it. I would think the stock IC would show you even higher temperatures.

I've always been told that 70C is getting really close to dangerous. The thing with the factory sensor that I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to react to quick temp changes. I know that cruising in vacuum produces colder temps than wot at 10psi of boost, but when I run it through a few gears at 10psi the temp stays relatively the same which I find odd.
