Charge Control Solenoid PN# ?

Unfortunately, the parts-diagrams does NOT list the charge control solenoid ?

Is it the 3-way solenoid, of which there are three (3) of them in the rat's nest ?

Here's what I've found:

(1) 1480-20-950A - PURGE VLV
(1) N370-20-285A - VALVE,DUTY SOLENOID
(3) 1481-13-240A - VALVE 3WAY
(1) N370-13-720A - VALVE,SOL. AIR BLEED SURG
(1) N370-13-725 - VALVE,SOL. AIR BLEED EXT

All of the 3-way solenoids are identical. The only difference is the colored dot that some have and some have a filter on them - the filter just pops on.

Just call Ray at Malloy, he can take care of you, no part number needed .

BTW, Mazda used those same 3-way solenoids since the FIRST GEN.

Yep. The wastegate control, turbo precontrol, and the purge control solenoids are the only "special" ones - they're duty controlled, where the ECU gives them a duty cycle. They also only have 2 nipples on them. All the 3-nipple solenoids (pressure regulator control, relief, switching, EGR, turbo control, charge control, double throttle control, and charge relief) are ALL the exact same. These solenoids all have 3 nipples on them - some have a small filter on one of the nipples, the filter pops off easily and can be moved to the appropriate nipple for that particular solenoid.

I've got a bag of solenoids at home - I've been saving them .

Dave et al.,

Can someone verify that the turbo control solenoid we're referencing in this thread is the THIRD one from the front ?

That is, it is the solenoid with the Tan electrical connector ?

Also, which one is the Charge Control solenoid ?

I'm asking, because my symptom is back . . .

:-( neil

There are two marked turbo control , look and see for yourself .One is the 3rd from the front as stated ,tan dot, the other is mounted to the air control valve with a stud and nut .The one with a stud and the purge control valve, also mounted with a stud look some what alike .The turbo control one has the longer stud and a small filter .
