Changing my diff to Kaaz

I was hoping all I broke was an axle but after further inspection there was more damage...

The new diff should be installed tomorrow.

Hopefully I can break it in tomorrow and Wednesday so I can make it out to the track Wednesday night.

What's the normal break in time? Figure 8's for an hour????

i've heard it during break in and after and it is loud but not unbearable. From your sig i see you have a full exaust with the n1 duals and in comparison the kazz is nothing. And yeah i think the break in is something like a figure eight for an hour or so.

I probably won't even hear the diff because of my exhaust. It is very loud...

i did it for a half hour like the kaaz manual said. i'd do that, wait a couple days of normal driving, then do some tight donuts in either direction to further break it in

Break in is for 1/2 hour
I installed and broke my kaaz in on thanksgiving
did 8's for half an hour and afterwards felt a lot better but still noisy. I drained diff oil afterwards and put kaaz diff oil and it made a big difference. The chattering only occurs when turning at low speeds and when parking.
But is not unbearable
I love my kaaz It is fucken awesome!!!!!
Enjoy and let me know how you like it.

So if I do the 1/2 to 1 hour of figure 8s and then how many miles do you'll think I should put on the car before I go to the track. I am getting the car back tomorrow night or Wednesday morning. I don't drive the car that much. It spends most of it times at the track.

After break in I dont see why you cant go off and use it in the track.
I have been driving my car all weekend ,,just to get the feel for it. And I have been driving it pretty hard. No problems at all.

Good luck
let us know when you get deeper in the 11's
or **** it go for the 10's.

How much for your C2's

Is it ok to use a non-KAAZ diff oil for breaking in the LSD and then changing it out for the KAAZ diff oil after?

Yeah vosko is right
change the oil as soon as you do the break in.
just wait till you see the gear oil it will have a grayish color to and metal shavings will be stuck on the drain plug but its normal. Put KAAZ oil and it should feel a little better.
Let me know how it performs.

LDawg
that is exactly what I did
bought cheap 80w-90 gear oil at autozone for break in then put kaaz oil.

Vosko... When did you have the wheel "lock up on you", I have never had that happen or heard of that till now. And i change the fluid in the Kaaz every 6k miles or less depending on how I drive. Awsome unit for me so far... NO complaints at all. Other than dizzyness after break-in!! Aloha, Dave

tight low speed turn you feel the diff "CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK" that is the tire skipping and the diff locking.........it will not do it while the clutch is engaged. honestly some people say theirs don't make any noise and others do. i have seen alot more that do clunk than don't clunk though.

that was one of the reasons i got my new mazda turbo II clutch diff.....it is QUIET as a torsen...i love it

if i didn't get one i'd have a kaaz though
