Changed Tan Carpet to Black yesterday

And it looks great. No more searching for Black Carpet. Since I wanted to do this out of the car, I cut the Tan carpet in two sections - Pass side and driver side. The hardest part was getting to the carpet behind the dash ( and I have my heater taken out during the lightening process long ago ). I removed the seats, center console, small kick panels, door sills, hatch/gas opener, driver foot rest, little panels on bottom of dash - and removed the carpet. Took several coats of the dye and drying time. Did it all in one day. Take some pics later. Cost - $25.

So you removed the heater to lighten the carpet but you still have carpet?

Ive found that the dye isnt for mint interiors

its kinda like rigging it

which did you use? if it doesnt come off at all then thats great but most fade out or rub off

Wow I was about to go outside and do mine today, but I think I'll wait to see your pictures to see how it turned out first. What brand dye did you use?

I used the Duplicolor Fabric Dye available at most automotive stores. Ive dyed my carpet about 1 year ago, and there is no fade. your going to want to get about 5 cans of it tho. About 4 bucks a pop.
