Angry Changed plugs, WTF HAPPENED!!!? (long)

I swear everytime I put an aftermarket part on the car has problems(clutch and fly). Ok as of lately my car seems to be hitting either fuel cut or missing in 3rd gear around 6.5k rpm around 10-11 psi. No biggy, I'll change the plugs right, WRONG! I change the plugs, I origianally had 7Q's and 9Q's. I bought 7QP's and 9QP's. I changed just the plugs and not the wires. I haven't changed the wires since the life of the car. About 3 years and 20k miles.

Prior to this I took off my air pump, it wasn't needed anymore with a gutted main cat. After that I was getting like 12 vaccum where before I was getting 15,16, and 17 vaccum. I was like well I guess that's expected with the rough idle also since I took off the air pump and that seems to be normal to have a little rougher idle.

Well I get home and start taking the elbow and what not off to get to the plugs. Change them no biggy. Put everything back together after double checking to make sure the boots were on the plugs good. I start it up and immedietly I get a bunch of smoke out, more than my usual norm because I premix and still use the OMP. Smoke is still heavy and doesn't want to seem to go away. I smell it for a little bit and after singing my nose hairs trying to smell what kind of smoke it is since it's night outside already and I have a little light with me. It doesn't smell sweet what so ever. Smells pungent like really rich. It was shooting flames if I revved it to 4k rpm and it would do a loud pop and a flame sometimes lower. The car wouldn't smooth out till around 3.5k-4k.

Car is idleing like I'am Abel Ibara with a monster street port or bridge port, just BRAP BRAP BRAP. I had a little port sounding before since taking the air pump off made it a little loopy but now it's really loopy, I have stock ports. I left it at that right now because it's night and you can't really work in the night. I'am seriously pissed right now and I don't know WTF to do. Any help guys?

** I don't have the silicone hose job done because I never needed it, vaccum WAS good.

Seems like tomorow I will get some plug wires and change them also.

Did you reverse the wires? Did you bump the map sensor hose off while you were in there?

I don't think I reversed the wires, blue are on top and black boots are on bottom. Maybe I did bump the map sensor, I'll double check that in the morning.

Maybe the plug wires are right, but are you sure you put the plugs in right? 7's up top, 9's on bottom?

Yup everything was in right.

IT WAS MY MAP SENSOR!!! Damn it, I let out a huge sigh of relief when I double checked it and found the hose wasn't connected. Sorry mods you can go ahead and delete this thread. I'am so relieved.

Don't second guess yourself .

From the factory, 7s go in the lower (leading) holes and 9's go in the top (trailing) holes. Many people with a few mods run 9's all around.

Can anyone tell me the difference between normal 7Q and 9Q spark plugs vs 7QP and 9QP plugs?

p=platinum, regs are copper plugs. Supposedly coppers just don't last as long.

I don't keep plugs IN my car longer than about 2000 miles maximum so I used to run the regular non platinum ones. I now run heat range 10 Iridium plugs and those are better for my car (single turbo running it hard).

I did the exact same thing when I changed my plugs a while back but I wouldnt recommend EVER starting the car without that hose on because it will flood, quickly and very badly!!! Took me awhile to get her unflooded when that happened. Have you tried starting it up since you put the hose back on??

Lol......have you ever done it before?

I can now do all four in about 15 mins. My first time took me closer to 15 hours. I just go from the top by feel. I've never taken off the intake elbow, but it supposedly makes it easier.

This is important: Make sure you do one plug at a time, and do NOT mix up plug wires. The leadings fire off the same coil, so no biggie there, but be very careful of mixing up trailings or a leading and a trailing.

Oh, and be very gentle threading in the new plugs.....hand tighten them, then give a half turn with the ratchet. Aluminum is soft and cross-threads easily .

Na he know's. I'am good friends with him and he's just bragging cause he took out his A/C and powersteering and can change plugs like the Flash now.

He's sweating though while I'am in A/C.
