Yeah I've been looking for a thread but I can't find one.
I have done it on other cars but not on an fd so I'm not sure. If I don't find out i'll just strip it down and see whats involved.
Thanks
John

The red/amber tint is on the back of the gauge face, the bulbs are normal halogen bulbs. People have used sand paper to sand the red film off the back of the gauge face,it seems to be an affective method. I'm lazy so I tried rubbing alcohol which failed miserably. After which I picked up a can of 'goof off' and it worked like a charm.. until it leaked over to the backside of the gauge and took off the white numberings to :]
good luck!

The FD comes stock with (3) light choices. The stock ECU can be reprogrammed to choose between the stock Amber, White, and Blue.
To change, locate the blue/white wire going into the ECU that corresponds to the '13' pin.
With the ignition 'on', use a tester to see if you are getting 12v, 5v, or 24v from this wire.
This will determine the color of light you can get. Simply ground the "ten" pin on the diagnostics box while depressing the brake pedal (note, ignition switch must be turned to OFF before doing this). Test the voltage again, you will see it cycle each time you do this.
Once you have selected the correct voltage (and therefore the corresponding light color) unground the 'ten' pin and voila! There you go.

Lets say you have a flashlight that you can change colors by changing the filter. you can do that because the original light source is white (well almost) if you were to take a red filter and put it over it you would have a red light. Now, take a blue filter and place it over the red one. How is it possible to get a blue light out of that?
Thanks

I just want to stress the disclaimer - I have not seen anyone else sucessful at this besides Hyperite and myself, meaning the clusters were ruined
I did another one and the cluster is not fully functional
