Central Locking Malfunction

Hey. this is kinda a wierd problem I have. When I get in the car, I cant lock the doors from the inside. I push on the drivers side lock and it gives me feedback like it doesnt wanna go down. Then it pops back up and unlocks both doors. the passenger side closes from the inside. The only way I figured out to lock my doors is after I unlock and open the drivers side door...lock it again and get in and start the car. The alarm is activated temporarily I guess until I get in and start the car. There must be a way to lock the car from the inside...how???

If you lock the car from the inside w/ the key off it sets the alarm - you must then insert the key in the ignition or one of the doors to deactivate the alarm. (or else it will go off when you unlock the door w/ the lever)
The failure to lock w/ the lever from inside sounds like the Cable in the door (from the lever to the latch) is kinked or there is something jammed in the latch/lock mechanism.
