CEIKA brake upgrade? Piston options?

I have the stock 16" wheels and was looking at the CEIKA big brake upgrade. They have various piston options and rotor sizes. I only fart around on the street, but the OEM braking can feel lacking, I really don't know what piston options I should be looking at or rotor size. Some input would be appreciated.

A BBK isn't going to do anything to braking performance on the street. The stock brakes will handily out-perform the braking power of your tires.

What a BBK will do is improve the thermal capacity of your braking. Meaning, you can stomp on the brakes more times before brake fade becomes an issue. Probably not something you are experiencing on thr street.

So, for anything less than hardcore track driving, a BBK is an aesthetic upgrade, not a performance one. Even for tracking, the FDs stock brakes are considered quite good and many run stock brakes just with better pads without running out of brake.

You can acheive improved braking feel and performance on the street with a more aggressive pad rather than a BBK. And if not done yet, rebuilding calipers and replacing old rubber lines with braided ones (alonf with a a good ol' flush) would undoubtedly improve things too.

But, to answer your question the biggest rotor you could fit within a 16" wheel is about 305mm or 12". And I dont knoe if you could find a BBK with a rotor that small.

Excellent Excellent Excellent break down. A BBK on a street car is for style absolutely. With the factory 16in wheels, you cannot fit anything other than stock. Minimum you will require a 17 and the factory 17in wheels may work. The spoke design seems really accommodating

I must be dealing with a different issue, could be a booster problem. I've replaced the check valve and bled it, I also need to try more aggressive street pads.

They list a kit with a 305mm rotor. So they seem to be making something bigger than stock that fits 16s. I'll put these lower on my priority list then. I haven't tracked it in over 15 years. They do look cool though, and I recently repainted it and added some aesthetics. They would complement the look.

What's the actual issue you're experiencing? Are you able to engage the ABS at a reasonable speed?
