I think the original pictures match our interiors better than the new modern twill patterns. I could be wrong, but I don't think the twill would match too well--not black enough IMO. I the original pictures make me think more of an F1.

also, i could be wrong, but doesn't the water-transfer film eventually peel off? i used to have a sunglasses holder that clipped onto the visor, and eventually the coating started to peel off it. from opening/closing it so much.

3M Carbon Fiber finish wrap is the way to go if you really want that style:

Yeah, I did it myself. It can be a lot of work to get it right though. There's more details of it in my build thread if you want to check it out.
I need to correct what I said earlier though, this is not a 3M product (as far as I know). This is a fabric that is very stretchy making it easier to install. I got it from pyspeed.com

Does anyone know what the scratch resistance of this process is? I think it would be neat if I could get my panels done in a plain semi-gloss black (similar to 93 panels). I recently re-painted them, but if this stuff will hold up better to scratching/everyday use, It would be wise to go this route.

an even better, less expensive option is refinishing the stock interior pieces. cost: under $15 for sandpaper and two cans of good spray paint.
