Car wouldnt start.
I just recently got an oil leak fixed and had a local shop check out my car, the mechanic said everything looked good. Well today i whent into publix to get groceries and when i came back out to turn my car on it wouldnt start. It was making that cranking sound like it wouldnt turn over. After 15 minutes of waiting for a friend to come help me it finally turned on and the engine was knocking hard. By the time i got home it seemed to be running smoothly. Any ideas what could have caused this? Bad starter, battery?

my wife and i are going through the same thing right now. we tried changing out the spark plugs and that only solved our problems for about a day or so. you might want to look into compression testing the car. Its very simple and you will be able to eliminate the major problems and focus on smaller stuff.

The car just had a compression test done, the mechanic said it was fine. I just dont understand how a day later after the mechanic checked everything out and fixing the oil leaks, it has a major problem. I actually just took it for a drive, it took a good 3 seconds before it turned over and the car turned on this time. The car ran smooth once completelly warmed up. Im guessing the battery is on its way out? or could it be the starter?
