Car won't start....

So heres a video of what my car is doing when I turn the ignition.
http://youtu.be/o-7Sr4RRAoQ

And heres the story about my car!
The clutch broke on me around 8 months ago I would say and 2 days ago was the first time it was on the road since than (I did start the car every so often and let it warm up while it was sitting). I drove it for about 40-60mins with a pitstop at a gas station with no problems at all. Later that night I went to go pick up some groceries and the car wouldn't start.

Me and a friend tried to roll start it (though we didn't have much speed) but all it did was stop dead when I pulled the clutch out and turned the key.

My guess at the moment is maybe I need to change the fuel filter/pump or both. Where some of my friends have said maybe its the starter or the plugs.

I hope this thread doesn't get double posted because my laptop decided to mess up on me when I hit submit thread last time.

Thank you for your time guys and I hope to resolve this soon! I miss my car D:

I would try and do a compression test to start. Also sounds like it may be flooded. You could try changing the spark plugs and see if it starts.

Try searching for the "Deflooding" procedures on here. This happened to me a couple years ago and it took about 30 seconds of cranking on fresh plugs to get it started. Make sure your battery is fully charged and dont overheat your starter.

Now after rewatching the video, is the motor even turning over? Its hard to tell if thats just the starter turning or if the engine is actually being turned over.

Sounds like it's a starter problem to me. It's not engaging, then you hear that horrible crunching briefly where it's mashing on the flywheel? I would start there.

If i read that correctly you turned the key while trying to push start it?

If so, all you should have done is leave the key in the on position and dump the clutch while its in 1st.

Durp >.<
This is what happens when you've been driving automatic cars in the mean time lol. I will have to give it another go when my roommate gets back then. Thanks for pointing that out...

Its either a starter problem or a flywheel problem. You can get a starter relatively cheap on rockauto.com I just changed mine out and ended up paying like 118$ after getting my core refund.

And yes, leave the key on, push the car then hop in, depress clutch pedal, shift into first (second may work better) and pop clutch. Should work if rolling fast enough.

Im really hoping its not the flywheel considering I just got i machined when we replaced the clutch but he did say that the nut was a little damaged from taking it off ( the flywheel nut was torqued at over 600lbs apparently o_O;; )

Ill give the roll start a try cause if that works than I know what direction I should be going lol

that engine isnt turning over at all. The starter is spinning, but its not engaging the teeth on the flywheel.
The first click you should hear from the starter, is the arm pushing out from the starter and lining up with the teeth on the flywheel, then when you start it, the starter pulls the engine around.

I would pull the starter and/our the small access panel and check the flywheel. Make sure its still in place and such.

You are correct about the starter not engaging the flywheel!
I sent the video to the guy who installed my clutch and he came over to take a look at whats going on. The starter is working properly but we didn't get to check the voltage reading so he's going to test it when he can and also try and get a starter to see if a different one would work.

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid.

start by pulling the started and check the teeth on the gear, see if its worn down or look in the bell housing for shavings. as stated your starter is not engaging your flywheel, it should be a simple fix. best of luck.
