car wont start!
well i pulled into the gas station fulled up on 50 bucks of gas .. then i get into the car turn the key and it doesnt even attempt to crank. just makes the sounds like if the clutch isnt pressed in. i had to push start the car to get home.
so i come on here and start doing some research and i find out it could be a number of things
clutch switch... i have a screw in place pushing that thing all the way down
starter relay.... i jumped the two big wires together
battery .... its fully charged i even tried with jumper cables.
but my car still wont start.
what could be my problem???

so when you put 12 volts to the small spade terminal on the starter (s) it did not engage?
then the solenoid is prob bad
what about when you jumper the load terminal to the starter motor directly will it spin??

i went out a baught one of those testers that jump a 12 signal.. and it spun the motor on the starter when directly placing the 12volt signal to the starter.
so i take it my starter is good.

well i took my starter off and took it to the auto parts store and they said its funtioning properly.
so im taking its something from my ignition to the starter relay... or from the starter relay to the actual starter..
any more ideas out there...
as for the clutch switch thing i jumped the wires so thats taken care of.

Probably a loose wire to the starter.

I am assuming that not starting means that the starter motor is not operating. That said you can begin at the battery and work your way to the start motor:
Check the fuses first - 120amp main (if other things work this is most likely ok)
40amp B2, 40a b1. also a 15amp fuse in the joint box. If OK then proceed, if not replace.
There are four things ahead of the starter. First check the output of the ignition switch as you try and start. You should get voltage on the black/blue and black/white wires. If not then the Starter cut relay will not operate. The relay is controlled by the CPU as well.
The start cut relay should operate, check its output which is the blue/white wire. If no output then its either the relay, a connection or the cpu signal.
If the start cut relay is working ok then your car should have voltage at the starter since you shorted out the clutch lockout switch. Go and check for voltage at the starter. No voltage most likely a bad connection. If there is voltage but it doesnt crank its the solinoid contact.
You can find the wiring for all this on page z-24 and the location of the parts on the next page Z25.

ok heres the update.... i started doing some voltage tests from the wires coming from the ignition ... and the black/green wire has full volatage ... but the blue and black wire has nothing at all.
so what i did is stick a tap into the black/green wire and jumped it to the black and blue and the car started cranking and started no problem... this is how ive been starting the car all day.
so my question is .... now that ive nailed it down to a wire's not getting voltage is it safe to say that the cause of these problems is my ignition switch????
