Car wont start
Hey fellas.
Just looking for some ideas.
I've already had the FD running this year, drove it into my garage the last time out, went to start it a few days later and it turned over but wouldn't start.
It was suggested that maybe I had flooded it with a partial start. (Which I don't remember having happened). I was told to pull the EGI fuse and spark plugs, turn it over for several seconds, reinstall and try again. I did this to no avail.
I don't know what to try next and I'm having a hard time getting a hold of the local rotary shop to get my car in, so if you guys have any suggestions in the meantime, I'm all ears.

If you're trying to de flood it you need to turn it over for more than a few seconds. With the spark plugs out and the hood up you can watch when the fuel cloud stops coming out. The smell will be less strong as well.
Most recommend 3 times for 10-15 seconds to get it all out.

fuel pump is my bet, but I'm to the point now that the battery is drained and I have to boost it to get it turning over. I'm not sure how to check the fuel pump.
or how to properly check for spark - electrical systems terrify me.

There's nothing to be afraid of in electrical system. Testing for spark is rather simple and will narrow things down. Checking the fuel pumps is easy as well.
The only tool you need to test your fuel pump will be a paper clip
Here's a thread on that https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...system-871361/
Testing for spark you can simply remove the leading spark plug cable L1 and with and attach it to a spark plug doesn't matter what type be careful not to get shocked (it's not bad actually, just a small jolt) with the ignition on turn the engine by hand if you can or have some one crank it and watch for spark

So here's where I'm at;
I have spark.
I dont hear the fuel pump come on - not even jumping it with a wire in the diagnostic box as explained above. Something electrical under the hood does click when i do that though.
I sprayed some WD40 in the leading plug holes and turned the car over, but it didnt catch.
Thoughts?

Thanks Matt. It's definitely the fuel pump. Compression isn't a problem, it's a relatively fresh rebuild done by the local Rotary shop (the only do rotaries). and she popped nicely with the plugs out when I attempted to deflood it.

Thanks so much for all of your help guys. One of my fellow Canadian members donated a fuel pump to the cause and she's up and running. Now I can make the RX-7 meet tomorrow....
