Car turns on but will not start?
Hey guys on my 93 rx7 the cars power turns on but does not even attempt to start. I checked the starter and it was good. I found a big aladin alarm system on it but it looks fine. I pulled the ignition switch out of the lock and stuck a knife in and turned it and still nothing. I checked the clutch switch and it looked like the white button was going in/out. If the alarm system went bad would that prevent the car from starting?

is there any kind of noise...clicking or anything...
if not the alarm would be my guess...if you checked the battery for full charge, check the starter for power...its i the key, or clutch..

all the interior lights come on, and before this started happening the car would start here and there, just click, click, click but no start. Then if you let the car sit for a few hours it would turn start right up. Now it doesn't even try to turn over. It just clicks. I hear alot of clicks coming from the engine bay and the battery/starter are good. I wonder if the ignition switch could be bad. I did cut this garage opener looking device that connected to the alarm brain. Im stumped.

If this is the same car that keeps not starting I would highly suggest you take it to RotorSports and have them work through the whole thing considering from your other posts the car has had most of the harness cut up and turbo's replaced and who knows what else and now you have taken the ign. switch apart....I think it will save you a ton of time and money just to have them go through it rather than keep screwing with it.
also you may want to check in the good guy bad guy thread cuz you have pissed off one buyer pretty good you may want to clear your name.

if you are hearing the starter click but it won't turn the motor over it means the ign switch is probably fine its most likely one of these
battery
starter
wiring between battery and starter
I know you say the batt and starter are good but how have you determined this
? If it has been a intermitant problem for awhile now I would highly suspect the starter as the motor can pickup dead stops causing you to hear just the solenoid click. also I'm not sure if it was your car I'm remembering but I think you have one of those mini batts...if that is the case I would advise you to replace with normal size batt ASAP as these can lead to starter problems and are unreliable for street use...
