hi i have a 1995 rx7 today i was doing some races and the car was fine . then on one pull third gear had a nasty grind then the rpms drop very quick . i never had this happen before . is it the clutch? my synchro is out in 5th so is this a related problem? i thougth if clutches where bad the rpms shot up . but after in grinds then engages they will drop and then after a bit go back up like i was just accelerating like normal .

so here is the play by play . shift then gear grinds engages . then rpms drop quick . then they go back up like i was accelerating with no problems .

any help . just clutch hopefully

 

any input? just seems like a synchro problem to me from what i have been reading . does anyone know if its cheaper to replace the synchros or get a used tranny?

anyone know the cost of them rough guess.
