Car stranded at drag strip

So I took my car to the local drag strip yesterday for the first time. Not a good outcome.

I took off, Everything felt fine until the end of 3rd gear. Then it felt like my ignition began to break up. THEN THE CAR SHUT OFF 30 FEET BEFORE THE FINISH LINE! WTF???? I coasted onto the return road and tried to restart it again. It will crank over fine but will not start. I am getting fuel (my fuel psi gauge reads 35psi). I have not had the chance to check if it is getting a spark yet. But my assumption is that my ignition took a **** on me. As of right now the car is still stranded at the strip. I am going to get it towed to JPR Performance tommorrow.

PLease help with ideas.

I checked the map sensor, it's on. Even with it off the car would still start. I did not try pop starting it but I tried cranking it all night....nothing.

Need to know if your eveng etting spark.. thats the first starting place. Especially if you felt ignition breaking up. get it towed.. check for spark.. then go from there.

Fuses are a reaction, not a cause. If your fuse is gone, something caused it to go.

Make SURE you're getting spark. This is the best route for you to go to check your problem.

Remember:
Fuel-->Spark-->Compression

Always check in that order.

Same thing im going through right now.

One day i started the car since i start it every couple of days in the winter time. I started it, it started perfect, idled perfect and i went to do something else in the yard. About 4-5 minutes later, i heard the idle drop and it caught my attention, i walked over to my car and got inside and saw the idle was hover right below 500rpm. I put my right leg inside the car ready to give it some throttle when the car just shut off. All my acc were on and the radio was still on but the car just shut off.

I was like ok, so i tried to restart it, nothing. I checked the plug wires, maybe it came loose. I checked all fuses and relays. Nothing.

So i came to an assumption either my coils or my ignitor died.

I changed the ignitor but no luck and in the process of changing the coils.

Ill let you know what happened.

Does the engine sound 'uneven' when you crank it? Did you overboost at the top of 3rd gear?

It sounds totally normal when I crank it, it just won't start. I had it flatbedded to JPR Performance yesterday. Jim checked the compression today...Compression is fine. It is also getting spark. So far he thinks it was running extremly ritch and flooded. He's gonna put some new 9's in it and see if he can get it started. Then we'll work from there.
