car started then died

it started after not being used for about 2 weeks ,ran for about 2 mins then died and flooded.
ive done the de flood procudure about 5 times with no luck.
think maybe that the fuel filter might be to blame, so im gonna change that and drain and clean the tank add injector cleaner .
could this be to blame?
what injector cleaner should i use?
and any tips on takeing out and changin filter with out being able to de pressurise the system?

car has 84 kilo, stock ecu ,cat back exhaust, apex filters

also car was running fine up to this ,startin fine and pulling hard.
thanks for any help and comments.

How old are your spark plugs?

If you are getting fuel, I don't see why the fuel filter would necessarily be the problem. If you can pinch the fuel lines with a clamp, that will help not squirt fuel everywhere when changing the filter. Also, open up the gas cap as that will release pressure in the gas tank.

As far as injector cleaner, most people recommend BG44K.

thanks for the replys.

plugs are bout 300 miles old ,dryed them off in the oven.wasent a heavy carbon build up.
as for fuel filter it hasent been changed since ive owned it ,so need to be done anyway.i was more thinking dirty fuel clogged an injector.
or maybe a leaky injector,as it flooded a bout 5k ago.havent done a compression check yeat[havent got a guage]

ive taken out tank gonna clean it ,maybe power coat it.relocate filter and then filll it up and add ign cleaner and go from there.

what bout fpd?

clogged ign because id had the car jacked up before i started it so maybe it sterted with the fuel in the lines and because the fuel was slushing round a bit of dirt got by the old filter.

leaky ign, because it flooded not to long ago.

also when it died a small vapor of fuel could be seen around the main fuel lines .
i put a jumper accross grd and f/p but no leaks.thats why im thinking fpd.

i would still go with flooded.

Thats what i was thinking.

If anything, it sounds like a coil is going bad.

yeah check the simple things too, such as fuses. Make sure you have spark at all the plugs.

When you do the deflood are you putting a little ATF or MMO in the champbers to build the compression up?

not atf dont see the point using that.

used 2 stroke low smoke oil and tryed 10w40 last time.

whats the best way to check for spark?

plug in lead and get someone to crank it,while i hold it arround the plug hole for an earth .
just dont wanna **** up the stock ecu .

get a spark tester at auto zone its like 5 dollars.

plug in the tester from the spark plug to the tester to the wires, when you crank it will light up.

if you have an extra plug you can just unplug each of the wires and connect them to the spare plug then as you said crank the engine over with the plug grounded.

I dont know why it's been suggested to use atf fluid rather then motor oil to build compression, maybe to get rid of any carbon build up? i'm not sure. Seems either would work.

another thing you might do if it's difficult to find someone to crank the car for you at times, run an extra wire from the battery 12v + to the starter solenoid with a switch in the engine bay. That way you can crank the car and look at things under the hood. ** you will still need to turn the ignition to the "on" position

So during this problem, the car continues to start up and run, THEN die?

Or did it just start once, ran for a bit, then died and wont turn over anymore?

Cause if it runs, then dies, its most likely a clogged fuel filter.

"Or did it just start once, ran for a bit, then died and wont turn over anymore?"

i started it after it no being started for 2/3 weeks ,before i did a fue projects like f/filter change/relocation,flood switch mod,a/c removel

think its just heavely flooded .but why did it cut out and why the vapor of fuel by the uim/main fuel lines ?????cant find a reason for this any ideas.
thanks for the reply
