car shutting off when A/C is turned on!!!!!!!

I have a question I hope some of you guys might also experience. Whenever i turn the A/C on in the car, it stalls out. It usually happens when i rev the car and the needle drops below 1000 RPM and shuts off. Tried everything but doesnt seem to help either. Even put on a Stall saver. Could it be the Haltech E6K???? Any one have this problem or know how to fix it??????Its really bothering me because the temperture in Texas is HOT!!!!!!!!!By the way its not the turbo for sure!!

AC

Ryan- Does the car stall just when the AC compressor engages, or when the AC switch is on, regardless of whether the compressor is running or not? Mine stalled due to the system being over charged- too much refrigerant, just when the compressor tried to start. There was not enough "space" for the refrigerant to go when it was compressed. System was purged, pumped down and re-charged to factory specs. Runs fine now. This is a place to start, but you will need a manifiold pressure gauge set to check high and low side pressure, or just take it to someone with AC experience. It might also be something else which is causing severe resistance and engine drag on the drive belt.

Sounds like your ecu isnt compensating for the added load! Try revving to 2k and turning it on.. If it works then you needto find a way to prompt the ecu to rev higher with the a/c on!

There are lots of guys here with Haltechs. Go to the ECu forum and post a question on how to raise idle with the AC Compressor is on. I know for a fact it is possible to do so, I just don't know how to.
