car shorted out.. need help
well friday night Im on a date with this girl and I slightly get on it in first and everythign shuts off. my lights are stuck up even though they are off now, windows stuck down, antenna stuck up etc. nothing electrical works at all... the battery is in the passenger side rear bin so I felt it and it was hot so I disconnected it. I smelt something that smelt like burning something, but it was very faint and I could only smell it when the wind was blowing.
also whenever I try to hook the battery back up it sparks like crazy so I am guessing the main power cable is grounding out somewhere? I havent had a chance to get the car on a lift to check out the batt cable from after where it goes through near where the shifter is, but from the pieces I can see inside it looks fine...
any ideas? hopfully this **** didnt fry my microtec... all fuses/relays etc look ok.. how can I try and diagnose this crap besides looking for a burnt wire or somehting. thanks.
