poman, just for old times, can I hear another crack about the jimlab nylon bushings? the "wooden ship listing into the wind" quip had me rolling
Eight years of ownership with only 20K of my driving on it. The car probably has never run smoothly for more than 6 month at a time, if that. It has done it's fair share of "sitting". It was sitting for the last year....the longest it has ever sat. I just got fed up with all the little things with it....it was so nice and easy to turn on my DD and have it go. No hesitation, jerking, stalling, dying. Seriously considered selling the rexxer.....but something always held me back. Could it be the zoom-zoom? hahahaha.
Just got it fixed up last month....and I completely agree: the car kicks butt and I hope to keep it forever. Of course, that's when things are running smooth. But wow, I love that ride! I can look at it for days.......But of course now, I need to fix up the suspension - new bushings and springs and shocks........uhhh vay.
Here's a question: When/if the 4th gen comes out....how much prestige/value will the 3rd gen lose? I guess it depends on the 4th gen's design/power/"wow" factor etc.......but I'm curious to know what people think. I think the 3rd gens design is timeless ..... and it will still hold.

I'd be happy with that too but seeing how Mazda failed with the RX-8 and the new RX-8 its not looking good. But then again, we don't have anything close to production yet so its too soon to say anything

Thanks but it was true. Should have known better than to buy engineered parts from a Microsoft virtualware engineer. Jim still has his car on the jacks. I guess he uses it as a marital aid tool instead of ****.

its about time mazda makes something sexy again. i would easily take a single turbo R3 over a single R1. but thats just me.

The gas mileage issue can never be fixed as well as a piston motor. It's just the shape of the combustion chamber makes it difficult to get a perfect mixture or a perfect burn. But if the 16x is a good motor, I'll be putting one in as soon as I pop my 13b. The 16x will drop right into any 13b car. It's exterior dimensions are the same as the 13b.
