Okay guys... i been messing with the throttle body like a mad man... i tried to set the throttle cable as loose as it can be whil eopening the butterflies fully open. I know it says its suppose to be 1 to 3mm play mine is more like 5mm. I ended turning the air screw approx 5 to 6 times back and adjusted the PIM volt on the power fc to 92-94.1. My idle is at 820-850 and when i turn the AC on it goes to 1000 for a second then down to approx 840-950. THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED... i just got it the best i could. My Air/fuel with a/c off is 13.5 where i like it and with a/c on it goes down to 12.8
i wonder how to fix this mess...

Could it be an air leak? Is there an easy way to assess or find leaks? I have a feeling an air leak might be coming from the lower intake manifold block off plates. I used 3 in total.

i replaced the spark plugs and readjusted tps blocked off the pcv valve to see if air was leaking out... no change. I do have a datalogit but have no idea how to log stuff... I did notice when the car is idling with the ac off it reads IGN trailing at -5 and IGN leading at -20 at 800 rpms after fully warmed up. When I hit the A/C ON full power it goes to IGN trailing 30 and IGN Leading 20. Can someone that has a power fc tell me if this is normal?

According to the manual... if you unplug the white connector that goes to the idle control valve the idle is suppose to lower and if it doesn't the fast idle cam needs to be readjusted. Mine did nothing whether plugged in or unplugged. Is this normal cuz i have a power fc? Can anyone try it in their car and report back?
Stuff like this can make a person lose their mind. What's ironic is my car does the exact opposite. I have the idle set to 1100, and the idle will sit there if it's not driven. Go drive it around the idle will drop down to anywhere between 500-750. AFR's go from 11.5-ish to high 10s. Then if I turn my AC on my idle will jump to 950-1000 and AFR's go back up to 11.5-12 at idle. Downfall with my car I don't have a power FC yet.
It's odd that everything you've explained changed/adjusted is all the same crap I have, but I have not yet figured my issue out either.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around why mazda intertwined everything together... So if one sensor is slightly out of spec.... everything is out of spec. lol I also bought mine used so I'm still chasing grimlins. Keep at it! hopefully soon you'll get your issue figured out.

So... I took everything apart, changed all the vacuum lines, resealed the ACV blockoff plate with black rtv silicone, got a low milage virgin throttle body, and new speedo cable AND!
. Nothing!!!! No change. This sucks... this wasent happening before the only thing i can think off is that by cutting the wires off the main harness that were attached to the ACV somehow it send a signal to the ACV valve and then recycled back telling the computer to raise the idle and not that i cut them its probably just looping to infinity and doesnt recognize the load.

Does the Electrical Load Unit work with the PFC the same way as with the OEM PCME? Sounds like either the ELU doesn't have the correct inputs, or it is not controlling the IAC valve via the PFC, or it is defective.

im charging my battery and rechecking everything. i noticed without AC or lights my battery read 13.8 at idle. 13.7 with lights (high beams and fogs) on and 11.8 with A/C on only at full powah....

P.S. can someone check their system and tell me what you guys are getting and what battery u are using. I have a braille 17lb one...

I replaced the battery and same thing. The alternator tested good at 3 different places.... With the new battery the volts drop down to 13.5 and it stays at 14 otherwise... What would be robbing so much load from the charging system.?

Okay so I think I figured it out....somehow the idle speed valve is not turning on... I had a spare and was able to plug it to the harness and turned the ac on and nothing.... I do have the power FC but is not even turning on... I think when I cut the wires and wrapped them with electrical tape they must be touching and grounding out... I'm going to open a new thread and will work on it this weekend.
