Angry Car Has a Death Wish

It keeps wanting to die lol. Drove it to school today and it died like 6 times at idle. seems like it stumbles below 1500 and I gotta give it gas to keep it running. otherwise it drives fine and still hauls *** just gotta keep my foot in it to keep it running. Has new plugs less than 100 miles on them and everything is kept in the maintence schedual so I dont think it's any of that. Any ideas?

well the obvious would be a vaccum leak, but less obvious would be an altenator...

did you break it in correctly?

If it dies at idle you might want to check the ICS

Wow, I guess half of the responses were jokes (I hope at least).

If the car wants to die at idle it could/should be a vaccum issue.

I highly doubt its an alternator (results in dead battery) or coolant issue (results in dead motor).

TPS adjustment perhaps?

i agree with phoenixdown.....open your hood and listen for a kind of whistling noise...have a friend with you so he can keep his foot on the gas pedal just enough to keep it running. then like i said before just listen for a hissing noise and try and track it down...if you are a beginner at working on these cars then i would suggest bringing it back to the place that you got the engine rebuilt at and complain to them until the car runs correctly again. hope this helps
peace out
Ryan

nah i'm not a beginner. had the car for almost 3 years now and do all the work I can. only goes to the shop for major work and tuning. I dont hear a hissing noise and there arn't any leaks that I see forming below it or anywhere on the block, and yeah I drove it 750 miles below 3 grand and 0 boost and had it tuned the first time it was floored so never ran hard un-tuned. It's been running great and still runs great when i'm in gear spinning through 2nd . just come to a red light and it idles at 900 then drops to 700 then 500 then all the warning lights come on lol. I just gotta keep giving just a litttle gas to bump the idle. Took the alternator out to have it tested for the hell of it, the car isn't my daily driver so I'm just gonna park it till I find it.

Check the connections on your battery. What is your vacuum at idle?
