Car has a 3000 rpm hesitation

Hi all. I posted a couple of days before and I thank you guys for giving me some advice.

Okay, so I sorta eliminated some possibilities that are causing the 3000 rpm hesitation issue. I eliminated the battery and grounding and verified that they work okay.

What I found was that the hoses connected to the pressure chamber came off. I took off the pressure chamber and found the hose was not connected to the check valve (please see attachment below). The hose won't go back on the check valve as if its broken or something. All the other hoses connected to check valves are tightly connected. Could this be causing the problem?

This is stock FD special feature. Replace the stock ECU and it will go away. Otherwise I would live with it.

i would definately go ahead and fix the problem you have to see if it fixes your problem or not. If you need cheap reliable replacements contact Dale Clark on the forum. Good deal compared to mazda check valves

Thanks guys for giving me these infos. I'm gonna try and replace the check valve from the pressure chamber and see if it work. If not then I guess I need to find whats the problem. If its not troubling can you guys tell me more about this problem I have. I'm a rotary idiot and I am trying to learn everything I can about this car. No boost mean no fun. Thanks all!!!!

I'm not sure on your car background and haven't seen your previous thread soooo I'm gonna go by what I don't see in this thread and tell you to check your TPS voltage. See if that checks out...

Jeremy

EDIT: You show only 3 posts... is this your first time to this forum? Try doing an advanced search only searching in the 3rd gen section... "hesitation at 3000". See what you get.

Jeremy

When you checked your grounds did you have the ground strap that goes from the bolt that connects the main cat to the cat back to the chassis ? ? ? That one seems to do the most in reducing the 3000 rpm hesitation. No boost and 3k hesitation are two different things.

The vacuum hoses should be fixed because they are part of the turbo system.

The 3k hesitation is unrelated. And annoying. Grounding sometimes affects it, but only a full ECU replacement will consistently solve it.

3k hesitation - possible solutions

See this site for a summary of possible issues -

http://www.fd3s.net/3k_hesitation.html

I had a hesitation problem, tried running the fuel pump at 12v, cleaned injectors, changed air filter, fuel filter, checked grounding, tried different fuel pumps, the list goes on. In the start we checked the ECU and seemed okay but in the end I got a Microtech and fixed the problem. Was an expensive solution but I just wanted the car back.

Sounds like it's unanimous. New computer! I can't afford it so I'll live with mine. It only does it if the engine has not completely warmed up.

Sorry guys for misleading you guys. I notice that I dont have turbo boost when I gas it hard. The 3k hesitation is somewhat what I thought was the problem. But now that I'm doing my research it might be a boost problem. The main thing is that when I step on the gas petal hard and when it reach around 3-4k rpm it wont just rise and just go up and down, in all gears even neutral. When I drive the car it just feel like fuel cut and the car stall like hell. I'm gonna bring it to a local shop next week but I just want to at least figure out what is wrong so I won't get chop by those mechanics. Its hard to find a good rotary mechanic in SF. This is my first car I just bought and its driving me crazy. I checked the visible hose but I didnt check underneath the car yet. What else is the possible causes. Thanks paperjam for telling me that site. I got the list but some stuff I dont understand. Im a noob in rotary and just need some more advice from you experts. Thanks yall for giving me some help. Hope I can drive my car back soon

Possible boost/hesitation issue

Do you get alot of backfiring when it begins struggling like something is holding the car back?
