Was this your car that burned down? If so, you have an excellent sense of humor. I know I wouldn't be able to laugh/joke about something as serious as this. Goodluck and keep us posted with insurance claims and what not.

Wow, when you melt the hood and wheels you're getting pretty hot. About 1000F by my books - I guess gasoline will do that.

What a ******* mess. Damn that fire was hot. I bet there isn't a single bolt on that car that is usable.

What caused the fire?

I think I'm going to add a couple more extinguishers to my car. I could learn to deal with a wreck and losing the car as sometimes they are unavoidable, but a fire would haunt me knowing I could of probably stopped it with proper safety equipment.

how did that happen, it strange how it look like the fire started from the inside of the car rather than the engine bay...

Wow, that's terrible!

I'd love to find out exactly what happened. Brake failure following "burning plastic" smell makes me think melted brake line, but how would the fire not have been noticeable until after the brake line was toast? Seems like it would have to get pretty big before that point...

I only had liability on the day of the incident. So as word of the wise... if you are doing a car event, get full coverage :P

Nope... it was not staged. The fire originated behind the rear fender well. We suspected that the soft line between the tank and the hard line went. It was too hard to reach for a halon extinguisher. We emptied the extinguisher... and every time we stopped, the fire just flared back up.

You just gotta have a sense of humor when it comes to stuff like this. I keep telling myself, it could have been worse . I could have gone off the road as a fireball that started the forest fire in Big Sur *hahahahah*

Too late... someone beat you to it. I was unable to get a tow truck to junk it at the time of the incident, so I went back a few weeks later to find that that someone removed the IC and the SS hardpipes... as well as kicking the door and fender well in
