Car Crapped Out

Guys,

So, this morning I was out running errands today and I parked my car, went inside, and when I came out 10min later there was TONS of smoke coming out from under my hood. It was enough smoke that people were running around saying my car is on fire and called the fire department. Scared the crap out of me. I ran over, opened the hood, and there was a TON of smoke coming off my turbo and it was making a lot of noise. Almost like a boiling noise. Another thing I noticed was that a coolant was pouring out of the bottom of my car.

So here is what I have so far:
1. Lots of smoke (maybe steam?) coming off the turbo. Not exactly sure because at the time I was looking around making sure there was no fire.
2. Loss of coolant (happend while the car was parked). I made a few stops before and no coolant leak at other stops.
3. When I was driving around car temps were fine. High of 80C when I was sitting in traffic and 70C when I was driving on the highway.
4. Did not drive hard at all. Just got the car back so didn't get on it hard at all.

This is very frustrating. My car has been at a shop since March (long story) and I just got it back this morning. Had the car towed to my house and will take a look tomorrow. Just wanted see what you think it could be. Thanks.

sounds like a coolant leak to me bud, there are various coolant lines around the turbo, get a cooling system tester and check for leaks, coolant will make a boiling sound and give off alot of steam

Blown turbo coolant hose. This is a common failure prone part. Heat from the turbos do them in fairly quick. Check it out and if so, call Ray. Always go OEM for these hoses.

Sounds like you just blew a coolant hose, probably one of the turbo ones.

Sounds as if you blew a coolant line and it sprayed all over the turbos, causing the smoke.

Make sure the hose you use is actually rated for the temps required, or get reinforced silicon.
