car breaking up?

I noticed today that my car will break up if I jump on it with less than 1/2 tank of fuel in it. If I remember correctly, my last FD did the same thing. Fill it up, it runs perfectly again. Is this a common issue? As usual, I tried the search first and came up with nothing related to my problems at all. If anyone has any search advice (I never get what I am looking for)- I would appreciate that too. Thanks.

I haven't checked to find the root of it yet since it did not do it when I got it running (only had it a couple weeks) and it had a full tank, didn't do it for days. Dropped below 1/2 tank yesterday, it started to break up if I accelerated hard under boost. Decided to get gas on my way home and it was fine after that. As I said, if memory serves me correctly- my last FD did the same thing- it all hit me after I got gas and the issue was gone- I kept saying to myself "why does this seem so damn familiar" . Yeah, I am stumped too. If it were a piston car, I would say it sounds like a lean pop- but since I am not 100% familiar with rotaries, it very well could be ignition. Thanks.

Do you have a bigger pump installed ? One gentleman had problems of the same and was going to look into the connection between the pump and pick up in the tank. May of been leaking

I don't know if the pump has ever been changed or not, but that is a good thought. How hard is it to get to teh pump- do you have to drop the tank or is there an access panel for it? Also, if I were to update it anyway, is anyone using the Walbro 255's or are they not big enough? Thanks.
