Car Blows EGI Fuse

Hey guys recently my car started to blow the egi fuse on the main fuse block.
I recently had the car in the body shop for some minor work, the car started great when I picked it up but after I brought it home and let it sit the car would not start.
The first thing I did was to check the fuses and sure enough the egi fuse was blown. so i switched it out and the same thing happend. i am at the moment tracing down the wire and here is where I have a question. the wire between the egi fuse and the egi relay on fwm page B-1a connector x-01 (W/G) has about 60.6 KOhms of resistance. on the wiring diagram is shows it to be just a straight wire does this sound right to anybody.

Hopefully it is just a bad wire and that can be easily fixed personally I am thinking short to ground, this would explain the fuse constantly blowing.

Thanks in advance
Adam

Ok

Time for the big over haul.
first off I checked the wiring from the egi fuse to the egi relay, nothing wrong. The car started up and everything seemed fine.
After a few minutes of driving the car developed a very large hestation at 3k rpm, then as soon as the car reached normal driving temp 85c to 90c the car shut off. the egi fuse was blown again

So tomorrow I am going to go through and test every wire, solenoid and anything else that is in the cirucit. soup to nuts!!!!!
Unfortunatley this includes all of the turbo control solenoids.
I have completly removed all of the solenoids in the past but should not be a problem on the removal part of the job.

If anybody has any tips on testing the solenoids and any other part please feel free to chime in on this subject.

If anybody is interested I will provide detailed pictures and explanations of what I did and why.

I would check where the egi wire passes through the firewall. It comes inside the cabin and connects to a blue connector to go back outside to the engine harness. You might try disconnecting it and see if it blows or not. I would say put a light in place of the fuse, unplug your ECU and start wiggling **** around and see if the light goes out. When the light stays on, you have a short, when the light shuts off, you found the short and fixed or isolated the problem.

You have a short somewhere. What was done at the body shop? Check your fuel pump wiring.

Fdeez

All they did under the hood was replace the driver side headlight cover. was broke due to a minor fender bender.

Jhcrazyboi

I am at the moment running stock 16 with 225/50s

the first thing thought was that I would of been a wire around the headlight its self
another thing that i thought of today is that the alternator is 15 years old and should be replaced. I was looking on the wiring diagram and the egi fuse has a direct link to the voltage regulator, something tells me that this could be a possible problem so I will check out what was mentioned by Aeka Gsr and get back to you guys.

I found the short in my wiring, the body guy sent a drill bit through the wiring loom under the drivers side head light (area)
I will post some pictures up later.
