car acting wierd
alright guys i finally got my car running when i went home for the weekend, it ran fine on the way back, but im leakin and burnin a little oil, so i kept adding oil, i was plannin on fixin it when i went home last week
the other day, i drove somewhere about a mile away, mostly freeway, but drove it kinda hard, but it was fine,
on the way home, i had just started it up, and the exhaust was smoking terribley, so i pulled over and the there was mad steam comin off the AST. and it spilled off a little coolant. so i waited for it to cool down and got back on the freeway
i got on the freeway driving cool, and it started overheating again, so i pulled over, it wasnted smoking this time, no steam from the ast, and i tried to start it up, and it would turn over but wouldnt fire up, so i towed it home. what could be wrong, i've been afraid to go outside and look at it.
thanks

this sounds very bad to me
I'd say time for a new engine based on that description. Your car may need new seals which is why its throwing up and running hot at highway speeds when it should be running cool but it can't cool down because its heating/eating its own coolant. This is also why it won't start because the rotor faces are full of coolant and water which doesn't mix to good with fire/ignition. Try giving it 10 good cranks it should start but it will continue to run hot especially under boost until you rebuild it or get a new engine.
Or I'm completely off base and you have a bad pressure cap on the ast and your ignition coils are bad or.....

hey i just got my engine rebuilt about 6k ago at pineapple racing, so i think there is no way my coolant seals could be bad, it ran perfect on the way here, this was kinda out of the blue. which is why im so confused, ive never over heated it before, and i've ran it in way worse conditions. it was cold as hell outside.

this was normal driving at cold cold *** temps
Almost sounds like two seperate problems... you said the exhuaset was smoking... was it oil smoke (blueish), or steam (indicating coolant seal failure)?
You could have a bad AST cap, but it doesn't sound like your only problem...

Is this the STOCK AST? Can't be, no way pineapple is gonna allow that dog on their motor. So was it spilling out over which AST? Pettit? Those caps can go bad, AND the neck can corrode. In either of these cases, the cooling system's less than optimal, though with the NPG, this makes it a little harder to diagnose.
How's that thermostat? What color was that smoke the first time? Coming out the tailpipe, right, not off the engine bay exhaust, right? More info on your set up and the rebuild and so on...

white smoke out the tailpipe
its a stock ast, but it was replaced with a new with the previous owner. could be the cap. i didnt check themostat yet.
i have a pineapple rebuild with a large streetport and stage 3 oil mods. my other mods are dp/mp/gt spec.
and im running non seq with a ported wastegate and manual boost controller with the boost turned wayyyy down so its pretty damn rich.
