If it was creeping past what he tuned it for, then I would say yes. Even then it is going to be hard to put it on the tuner. If the rebuild had new apex seals it is really going to be hard to put it on the builder of the engine also. Apex seals usually only break due to these type of situations. Obviously their are other conditions that can cause it, but most of the times it is when the car is being raced or when the car has a boost creep issue.

He didnt tune for a specific PSI because it was creeping... Once the needle was moving towards 15 I shifted, I have 1600cc secondaries shouldnt I be able to handle 15psi? Im doing a compression test hopefully thursday so I should know then... I just dont know what I will do if its blown, I just spent over 5 grand getting it rebuilt/running perfect...

DO NOT spray carb cleaner. On any other car I would say yes, but I used some brake clean while looking for a vacuum leak on mine, *BWWOOOF* a 3 foot tall flame rose from the engine bay. I dove in the car and shut her off. At that time I could see the flame drop off as it was just the brake cleaner that burned. I scurried back to the engine bay to see a small fire in my rats nest, I tried to blow it out, that didn't work. Again I dove back into the car, grabbed my extinguisher, shoved it in the nest and gave it a small pop. That stopped it.

Thank god for the heat resistance of silicone hoses, no damage was done.

Ok just checked the compression and everything turned out ok.. both rotors read 120 with equal needle bounces.... although my fpr is reading 28psi with the car running, the car is still idling like **** and is making a metal scraping metal noise.... any suggestions?

The fuel pressure however is 38psi with car off and the jumper connected in the diagnostic box. Maybe the hose came off for the FPR?

If you already read through the thread I did the compression test, it all came out good.. Heres my last post in the thread:

So you have compression and spark but Fuel pressure is low, If I was you I'd change my fuel filter and hope that its clogged! Of course checking for the vaccum line on the fpr is even easier!(BTW, is it the stock fpr or aftermarket adjustable?) If neither is the problem then I'd go look into the fuel pump, injector or maybe ecu??? what do you have?

28 psi for idle fuel pressuer is low, I think it should be closer to 32(gotta check the fsm) but another cause may be the idle speed control.

Good luck ! I hope you troubleshoot your problem and get that FD back up the speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its an after market FPR.. The injectors and fuel pump are brand spanking new I doubt it would be that.... my symptoms are still low vacuum, bad idle, and grinding noise (to describe the grinding noise I would say almost like putting metal scraps in the dryer/ metal scraps going down the drain.. lol)...

Sounds like when my motor starved of oil due to a poor oil pan gasket seal job and it clogged the pick up tube. Sure did end up trashing that reman!
