Angry Can't boost more than 10psi

Just got a pfc used from someone who previously purchased it from SR motorsports with tuning.

He has the same mods as I do and I can't boost past 10psi / .71bar. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Previously with my stock ECU it would spike to 12+psi without trying. I've adjusted the boost setting and base duty and am not seeing any improvement.

Thanks for your insight.

my mods include greddy smic, cb, dp, hfcat, modified stock w/ K&N..

Thanks for the suggestions!

It's impossible to tell without seeing your maps/settings if it is the PFC or your car that is limiting your boost.

If you can switch back to the old ecu and see if you still get 12+ pounds boost then you could say it was the PFC.

What is controlling your boost right now. If you can find someone with the datalogit, you could troubleshoot it much quicker.

Wish I could be more help, asking some FL guys for assistance so maybe you can get a better answer.

I suppose switching to the stock ECU is the easiest way to troubleshoot it...

For another test I set my boost to .5 bar and the pfc worked fine - locked my boost dead on .5bar on the pfc and 7psi on my boost gauge. So that atleast lets me know that the boost controller aspect is working, right? Is their any technical reason on the pfc that the upper limits wouldn't work if the bottom setting does? I'm thinking boost leak..

Thanks,

Brent

Sounds like boost leak...trouble is finding where. The stock setup has lots of places to leak as you know. Try the crossover, y-pipe links to see if leaks are there.
