I want a 11 second rx7 and after that i will be happy, i just want a fast street car and thats it, I am not really into drag racing on the track but i want enough power there to line it up when pushed at the street lights. I was wondering now, to get my car in the 11's do i have to go aftermarket turbo? can i keep the twins to get into the 11's? how far can you go in terms of time with stock twins? and what will i have to do to get my car into the 11's?

Don't Be A Rikki is in the 11's with stock twins, I believe. Do a search, its a VERY long thread.

 

Alot of people have been in the 11's on stockers. Even deep 11's.

Thats why I said to search

 

I ran consistant 11.7's on stock twins, with the Apex Power Fc, dp, mp, intake, FMIC, 1200cc secondaries, Bosch fuel pump, tie-wrap of vacume lines. Thats all you need. I've went single turbo since then, but it seems like yesterday.

Do an intake, intercooler, dp,mp, ecu, clutch and anything else you can think of, get it tuned correctly, then simply add slicks and launch at 8300rpm . Or go single and run 11's on drag radials.

AnthonyNYC ran 11.1 on stock twins and slicks. With drag radials he was mid 11's. If you get around 350 or more hp you should be able to break into the 11's with a good burnout and some drag radials....which are street tires. Basically all the bolt ons with stock twins good tuning and drag radials at 14-15psi should land you in the 11's.

I think the record for stock twins is 10.90 set about 3-4 years or so ago......I cant remember right off what his name was but JimLab knows him.

If I remember correctly, that 10.9 was stock twins and a non-ported motor too!

 

a bunch of people have 320+ to the wheels but running 11s requires a good launch with that hp. most people cant launch.
