Can someone identify what's wrong?
Hi guys,
My 7 is acting like a bitch. Only at night, with the dim lights or head lights on, there is 2500-3300 rpm hesitation. The hesitation would happen when I slowly acceralates the 7 or keep the rpm at that point. It doesn't happen when the turbo is spinning tho. I think it's about electric cuz one evening, I turned the dim lights on. Then, there is hesitation....While the engine's hic-cupping, I turned the dim lights off. There gone the hesitation!!!!!
Any helps and suggestion would be very appriciated.

Ooooo...And,
I forgot that also, only at night, sometimes 'engine check light' comes on. That only happens when I cruises around 70 mph on freeway back home. May or may not happen if I'm not cruising tho.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks.
Anymore suggestion?
Also, once the engine check light comes on, the car doesn't have anymore hesitation! Don't know if it's related. Seem to me as if the ecu goes for another map...one without feedback from sensors.

Blow up or win
Since it only happens at night I think you have a vampire inside your engine.
Clean your battery posts with a cylindrical post cleaner, the terminals with the wire brush, check to make sure your alternator is putting out 13.4 volts or more.

Thank you guys!
Thanks again for your advice. Seem like it's electrical...more specifically about not enough voltage for everything. I'm having a mech relocating the battery right now....think it would help?
And, the vampire joke is really good....made me laugh...ie ie ie. thank you, my friend.

Sounds to me like it could be related to your throttle position sensor (TPS). The load of the lights will make change the throttle position, maybe enough to make a difference. But, like Mahjik said, pull the codes and see what they tell you first.
Good luck.
