Can I use stock spring with aftermarket shocks?

Hi,
I am wondering that can I use stock spring with aftermarket shocks? My car got rubbing with 18" size wheels.

Yes you can, but to stop the rubbing you will probably need shocks and springs. Sway bars can also help limit wheel travel if the shocks and springs aren't enough.

Yes, I want to buy the coilovers, but I don't have money right now. I only can buy a used stock spring to raise the car's height.( I am using Eibach spring and Tokico 5 ways shocks).

I have 255/35/18s and just replaced my stock shocks with Bilstein HDs. I've only had a touch of rubbing on the left side, and then only taking a pretty sharp turn. I expect my alignment this weekend should eliminate that. Wheels are 18x8.5.

Shocks don't change the amount of wheel travel in a steady state turn -- they just change how quicly the car (body) rolls to the steady state position. Springs, ride height (CG height), and sway bars affect how far it rolls, generally. Of course, in real life, shocks do help limit wheel travel from bumps and quick turns, etc., but you really want springs and sway bars to limit wheel travel.

Or perhaps we are getting ahead of ourselves -- what size tires are you running? Perhaps the diameter is too big.

I was rubbing with stock wheels and tires after I installed my Tokico 5 ways with Racing Beat springs. My car had 75K on it, and I had to replace the front upper strut mounts. You might look at these and see if they need replacing.

I am running 235/40/18 on the front. Also, How can I check that does the front upper strut mounts need to be changed? Actually, I don't know what is the front upper strut mounts? and where is it?
