I had a new clutch put in 6 months ago, maybe has 5k on it. The flywheel was resurfaced then. Now I am doing the engine, and thinking about an aluminum flywheel. Can I just slap the flywheel on with a clutch that is used like that?

yup. theres nothing wrong wth that. people usually get both new at the same time only because its convinient. just remember that you still have to do the break-in period.

 

You probably will have no problems doing this. Just make sure the clutch is clean of dirt and grease when replacing the pressure plate.

well i was refferring to flywheel.

but if your getting the new engine... then i guess youll be breaking in both at the same time.

 

How do you break in a new flywheel?
