Can I get some advice for a bolt ons car?

I bought a 94 FD with junction hoses done, short shifter, silicon hoses all around, fluidyne radiator, new oem AST, downpipe, highflow cat, and rear section. Any ideas on mods? Can I safely put an intake on it without going lean or should I look into a PFC right away? How much hp will the stock fuel system support safely? I want to stay a bolt ons car and maybe eventually get a BNR stage2/3 sequential rebuild. I do want to stay sequential for the everyday fun factor without requiring to get really illegal to have fun driving. Has an aftermarket pressure plate and clutch that is pretty stiff so I am pretty sure that area is addressed for increases in power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This thread should help you.

As a fellow Houstonian I will share my experiences with you. Take care of upgrading and bulletproofing your coolant system first. As you know it gets hot in this town so cooling should be your number one priority and concern.

You will need to upgrade your ECU before you do any other mods.

Come to the club meet next Tuesday night. You will find info on it in the sticky at the top of the south forum.

I may come to the meeting but I won't have my 7 with me. It's gonna be at rotary performance getting inspected for the warranty company that LA motorcars goes through. I get it not this saturday but the saturday after so do you think it's possible for you to look at it and make sure I don't have any issues on it?

Come to the club meet. We can talk more about it then and you can meet some local guys as well as get some ideas of what you want to do to your car. I will be there but I might be in my daily driver.

you know where I can get a power FC+commander slightly used for cheaper than the 1250 brand new price at Rx7store.com? Is the apexi power intake the best intake for the stock twins? which is the best intercooler for the stock twins? Thanks.

you can get a cheaper PFC off the used parts section on this forum....also i like the intake boxes better than the apexi type intake, but everyone has their own opinions

i got my power fc from japan at greenline motorsport. it costed me a couple cents less then a grand for the power fc and commander. It should be the next thing you do to your car. remember, fuel and heat are the two leading causes in rx7 motors blowing. Address those first before any other mods go on.

If you are staying with bolt-ons mostly there is no need to spend over 1200 dollars for a PFC. Get a reprogrammed ECU for less than 400 and you are good for all bolt-ons + higher boost + mild SP. (My car dynoed at 350rwhp at 16psi)
Programmable ECUs are total overkill until you upgrade the fuel system (fuel pump, fuel rail, injectors, fuel pressure regulator).
Another thing is why would any sane person put the oe ast back into the car?? Either eliminate it or replace it with an aftermarket aluminum unit.
