I JUST TOOK MY 93 RX-7 IN TO REPAIR A REAR OIL SEAL LEAK AT A LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP.THEY CALLED ME BACK SAYING I HAD MANY LEAKS AND THEY NEEDED TO SHOOT DYE THRU MOTOR TO FIND,WHEN I CALLED LATER THAT DAY HE TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW METERING PUMP,OIL PAN,HE THEN QUOTED ME AT $10,000.PRETTY HIGH PRICE FOR AN OIL LEAK DONT YOU THINK? WHEN I ASKED HIM WOULDN'T IT BE CHEAPER TO REPLACE ENGINE HE SAIS THATS WHAT HE ADVISES,SO HOW MUCH I ASK.WELL I WOULD NEED TO LOOK THAT UP.HE ACTED AS IF HE HAD NO INTEREST ON REPAIRING MY CAR NOT EVEN THE RAER SEAL.$200 LATER MY CAR IS THE SAME AS WHEN I TOOK IN. PLEASE ADVISE...... NEW ENGINE,GO ELSEWHERE

It's pretty obvious the dealer doesn't know what's wrong. How can someone quote you $10k on a repair? Even if you buy new engine, new turbos, it still wouldn't be $10k. I think he has no idea and just want you to go away by giving you a big price tag.
Since you are in Sac, you aren't too far from many rotary shops in the Bay Area. Ivan is a great guy that works on 3rd gen in Sunnyvale. He is a master tech at Sunnyvale Mazda. Rick'srotary and M2 are in the easy bay. Mazda Masters is in Sunnyvale.
I recommend Ivan. He knows everything about FDs and is very honest. Other than Ivan, Rick's Rotary is also pretty good. I don't have Ivan's number off hand but if you look at the West section of this forum, you can find his number. Rx7fashion.com will point you to Rick's Rotary.
