Angry Can anybody beat this speeding ticket?

So I'm goin' down the highway, and come across a blue Viper. Needless to say, I've got to mess with him. He's receptive, and wants to go somewhere else to race. We go out on another highway, and do a few 20 to 70 runs, and then we let loose. We come to the top of a hill, and he brakes. I start to as well, but fly by the cop just over the hill at 126mph. My girlfriend's like "******' go--run." I do, but come to some cars and cant get around. The lights go on. The ticket's below. It sucks. --BN

Yep, that ones gonna hurt.. And he actually gave you the 126 in a 55 too(instead of a lesser charge) by by liscense. Look into a lawyer but depending on how long your liscense might be suspended for it might not be worth hiring one.

I roll the window down:

Cop: "Shut it off. Do you know how fast you were going?"

Me: "NO Idea"

Cop: "126mph"

Me: "NO way"

Cop: "Let me see your license & proof of insurance"

Goes to car & comes back with ticket--asks me to get out of the car...

Cop (Grinning EAR TO EAR): Please sign here--By signing this, it's not necessarily an admittance of guilt.

Me: What's the fastest you've ever gotten anyone out here?"

Cop: "126mph"

Me: "Oh...What's the fastest anyone's been pulled over out here?"

Cop: "155mph, but that was a Camaro."

Me (Pride insulted): My car will....I've read that my car will go that fast. (Extending arm to shake cop's hand) Thanks for not arresting me."

Cop: You're welcome. Behave.

That is nuts, I got a speeding ticket 19 mph over and the cop was a complete *** to me. I cant begin to believe how much of an attitude he gave you, then again from the convo it doesn't look that bad.

My friend was driving mine back from Eugene OR one night and we got off the off-ramp, going about 90 in a 35 there, then jumped over 4 lanes of trafic and took off. we were going 105 when a car cut us off to pass some one, we slowed down, let the car get back over, then next thing I know hes doing 130 a crusing.

Lights flash. The red and blue kind.

We pull over and the cop said he has been matching our speed ever since we got onto the off ramp and folowed him untill we left him behind after the car cut us off.

Hes running our stuff. Im laughing at my friend. He gets back and my friend asks him why he didnt pull us over when we were on the off ramp and save lots of time and potential trouble, and the cop couldnt come up with a good answer. I think thats what could have got my friend off on a lot of things so he ended up getting 105 in a 55. we were doing 105 when we ditched the cop.

Good times. Ill post my Getting out of drag racing later.

Cops got my friend for Exibiton of speed: no burn out, no screeching of tires, and he hadent even gotten out of frist gear b4 they pulled him over and to top it off they impounded his 7 thats fucked up. GL W/ the ticket

Ok, its later.

Heres my story -

I was working on July 10th in Salem at babbages, the day that Gran Turismo came out for the PS2, which by the way isnt a racing game. Its above every racing game out there and doesnt diserve the disrespect of being placed in the same genre of game.

ANYWAY, that day we were swamped at work. People were waiting for this game to come out and were waiting for hours in the store for it to come out. I ran into a guy that lived in Corvallis and I made an arangement with him to deliver his game to him so he wouldnt have to wade thru this mess of people. I told him that I should be in town around 10pm or so and I would call him around then to meet him with his game.

the game showed up around 845pm, 15 min before we closed. Needless to say, with 30 people in the store at that time we didnt close at 9pm like we should have. We didnt get everyone out of the store untill 930 and then we had to close out and do our night stuff so I didnt even get to my car untill about 1015 or so. Wasnt I suposed to be in Corvallis at 10? FACK!

Im going home, shitting myself because Im really late and I was worried that this guy thought I was @#%$ him over. Im sitting at a light, changing cds when I see a car pull up behind me, the quickly beside me. It was some kids in a mustang 5. slow as my friends like to call them, wanting to race. I kind of threw him off by just kinda ignoring him, but as soon as that light turned green we both took off. 60mph and 5 sec later a cop flips his lights on and pulls us BOTH over.

Im shitting myself again because its the second day I had my car and Im getting pulled over for drag racing, and on top of that im just becoming even more late. The cop asks what I was doing and I told him the whole I was late story and that I just got the car and I was used to my old car, which had a funny clutch that made me kinda drop it to keep it from killing my car.

"Do you know that kid over there?"
"No sir."
"Were you racing him?"
"No sir."
"Hmmm. Just a sec."

He lets me simmer in my own **** for a while, then he comes back and tells me the the damage.

"Im letting you go this time, but SLOW DOWN."
"Yes sir."

Then his partner chimes in,

"I dont know what you told my parner but its BULL @#%$ and you know it. Your lucky this time."
"Your right. It was bull @#%$, but I got away didnt I?"

I didnt say that but I sure to hell though it. I talked to the guy I raced and he was let go too. Funny how that works.
Ive never street raced after that.

Moral of the story is : If you going to race LOOK FOR @#%$ COPS. thank you.

just wondering.. when you get pulled over after racing hard on your rx7... you know the engine and turbos are hot and the police says 'shut it off'... would you tell him to wait for the car to cool down first? what if you have a turbo timer and when you pull ou the key it wouldnt shut off... would you press the button to shut off the engine or would you just let it run?

I was going about 120 and came over a hill a saw a cop. I slammed on brakes but only got to 96 before he clocked. Of course I didn't know for sure he got me cause he didn't move or turn on his lights.
So I kept going, got off the interstate, and was driving down the road and notice the flashing lights behind me, a good ways behind me. I pulled over and the cop comes running up to my yelling at me to "Get out of the car!" My first thought was oh ****. Needless to say he arrested me. I was charged with speeding, 96 on brakes(he wrote that) in a 55, wreckless driving, and attempt to flee and elude.

I hired myself a lawyer and got out the fleeing and eluding bs as well the speeding ticket itself, but I got stuck with the wreckless driving. Ejudication(sp?) was witheld on count 1(attemp to flee and elude) so I'm not actually guilty of it, but I'm serving 1 yr of probation and got 1yr of suspended dl for it which really sucks.

It ended up costing me about $3000 all because I felt like speeding. Mark this as being a lesson learned. Save the speeding for the track. I just hope I'm actually able to listen to that myself when I'm back on the road.

I can't believe how many of you guys got off completely, or caught a break. Unbelievable. The police up here are ballbusters. The only time I got away without a ticket, was when I ran. I passed a cop at 150. I said to myself, his 0-60 time is probably 6 seconds. Do you know where i'll be in six seconds at this rate of speed? Gone. That's where i'll be.
Unfortunately, I've payed for that time and time again.
Did somebody mention driving school? I've done it twice. I could probably teach the course. Although your cop was exceedingly cool(he could have arrested you, driving to endanger etc.), You should hire a lawyer.
Good luck. Get a better radar detector.
Jim
BTW. I would have messed with the Viper too.

One trick you can try if Missouri law permits it is to go to the court on your trial date. If the officer doesn't show up, you win. However, if he is there, you can request a continuance, usually by showing good cause. Something like you haven't finished preparing your case or gathering evidence. YOu could also tell the judge you are having difficulty retaining counsel.

Also, if you have a clean driving record (you do, don't you ) you might be able to work a deal with the prosecutor without having to retain a lawyer. Anyway, good luck!
